As my promise, i will tell the story about our trip to Duri, Riau . when my band performed in New year eve's.
The company who's invited us is PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia.
Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) is a subsidiary of Chevron in charge of exploring oil in Riau. Before being acquired by Chevron, the company was named Caltex Pacific Indonesia. CPI employees are placed in four cities in Riau is Dumai, Duri, Minas and Rumbai. CPI is also an oil company in Indonesia's largest contractor.
And this time we were in Duri. Duri is a town in Riau Province, Sumatra Island. About 120 Km from Pekanbaru or 4 Hours drive.
Duri is one of the oil fields in Riau Province. Duri oil field has been exploited since the 50's and is still produced by PT. Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI). with Dumai and Minas, Duri accounted for approximately 60% of Indonesia's crude oil production, with an average current production 400000-500000 barrels per day.
Our trip was started on Friday, 30th of December. At 3.45am we gathered in Dago area, Cikapayang street.They sent us a message that we will start at 4am.. but.. in fact??? we just started at 5.10am, cos waited for some people who didn't understand what is 4am..what is ON TIME!! LOL!!
We are not alone, i mean not only my band,Orange Pop, there were also another bands.. Stereo ( a Band with britpop genre) and Mobil Derek.
So.. we started from Bandung to Soekarno - Hatta International Airport .. I enjoyed that travel with Slept!! :p
what i know the bus was stop 2 times, but where, i didnt remember really :p
The Bus arrived at The airport around 9am,
then checked in, with so many luggage.. then went to a waiting room, boarded at 10.40am.. JT 0290 off to Pekanbaru...! again!! i slept !! :p
After took 1h20 min.. we landed at Sultan Syarif Kasim Airport in Pekanbaru. The weather was hooot!! aaaand.. i wear a long tshirt,
because we've been warned before, that 'the girls are not allow to wear sexy clothes during stay in Pekanbaru'!!! fwuuuh... yesss!!! i was okay.. but still HOT! :pAnother bus picked us up.. we stopped at Gas station, for lunch ( in the lunch box), some other went to Shalat Dzuhur ( Pray time for Muslim)
what i saw outside, along the way there are the oil palm tress. no wonder..cos the Oil Palm in Riau is the first largest in country in terms of producing Crude Palm Oil surpassed Malaysia.Around 6 pm we arrived in Duri.. We entered the residential area of PT. Chevron.. what i saw.. with the same road and same house between the one and the others. Confusing :p And just FYI , this residential have very strict rules, they are very disciplines. And is not easy to enter this area. And security here have more power and authority than the police. There are 24 Hours CCTV around. So, when someone break the rules, the security will come instantly to get you and give the penalty . And the report is going directly to main office in USA.. awesome :p
And one of the rule is the men and women not allowed to stay together in the same house (because we are guest here).. so.. me and Novie must separated with the others our band members.. huuft.. agree or not.. we must follow their rules!!
We stayed at the big house in Sibayak area with the other women. some of them are talent, and some of them are women from event organizer whose organize this event. aand.. we had a prettttyyyy, nice, cool roommate (sarcastic) who's made us lil bit crazy :p ( i dont wanna tell how she was, but she lil bit "weird" )
But.. what was so amazing.. FOOD! it was OVERFLOW! so much! alot! maybe for us is too much..
Pizza, so many kind of snacks,cake,chips, fruits, food in the lunch and dinner box.. whooaaaa.. i felt like not able to eat:p , but it was like something missed! ahaa!!!BEER , there was no beer!!( i wished that would be some for tomorrow before on stage)
and then after took a shower i chat with Novie for some Hours, then went to bed, cos must got up early in the morning to sound check at 8 am.
But, i think you could guess!! it was not started at 8 am!!!
i get up at 7 am, get ready, picked up at 9..and sound checked just started at 11 am.. crazy!!!!!
after sound checked, we took a rest.. then prepared and stand by at 7 pm. At 7.30 pm the cars picked us up
at 8 pm we stand by at the venue, cos in rundown, we would start at 8.30 pm.. but guess what??? yeaah.. you right!!! another delayed!! LOL!!
We started around 9.15 pm.. We played 3 songs as a first set.. 2 medium songs, and one song with piano.
It was good as a start. They gave applause, they singalong. Cos i've heard that to raise their mood are not easy..hard to blend even that there are really big or famous artist on stage :p depend on the attraction that artist itself i guess :p(complicated peoples :P)
Between the first and the second set, MC made some games and draw for cool door price.. why i say it cool?? cos' it is!! The door price are 4 LCD TVs, 4 Refrigerators, 4 Blackberry, 3 Tablets, 1 ipad, and the other cool stuff.. After 15 minutes, we back on stage.. i dont remember really how many songs, on the list there were 6 songs, but that EO asked us to play more.. cos the guests started to dance on the dance floor ( me and Novie have to mobile and get them to go on the dance floor, but it wasnt too hard 8-) ) We played dance music, classic disco, chacha, some of Rn'B and as their requested, some Latin songs :p I can see they were enjoy the music..they enjoyed our performed :) Then we took another break.. they played some games to get prizes..After that we go back to stage, to do the last set. We finished it with What THe Hell Song by Avril Lavigne.. it was funny cos the old ladies who's requested that song, so all ladies with headscarves(Muslim wear) with their partner were dancing, they sing and jump :p Funny.. rarely to see it in the club or bar. We finished our 3 set.. Time to relax and enjoying some beers ( i was thinking to ask that guy from event organizer to get some) Buuuut... very disappointing.. The rules that not allow them to serve any alcohol drinks in that place, or they will get warning and penalty!! auuuuuchhhh!!!So.. this was the first new year party for us without any alcohol..even that for one bottle of beer :p we called it 'The Most Healthy New Year Party Ever'!!!!!! that good to starting the year.. starting 2012 :D Helll Yeeeeaaah!!!
Then after.. they continued their performed.. i prefer to called and text my friends to wish them happy new year.. with drooling about Beer.. uuuh!!
my manager and my crew has packed our equipment and ready to go home..But!! they asked us to play again some songs to closed the party! So, we played 5 songs and Done!!! finished finally :)
we went home around 2 am.. Thats it!? no more crazy party??? YES!! not really a great party.. but i do enjoyed.. at least we made the other people happy to celebrate their new year ( even that no beer!!LOL)
in the next day.. we started to Pekanbaru around 11pm, and reach the city around 4pm..had some late lunch in one Pangeran Pekanbaru Hotel, then drove to Airport. at 6.10 JT 0295 bring us to Jakarta.. Yeaah.. get closer to HOME.. and around 2am i already in my room.. Exhausted, and tired...!
but it was a good moment to share.. met new peoples.. have new friends... and have new experiences..:)
so.. that how i spent my new year.. Work and entertained people..
