The Raid - Redemption -

I need to write this on my blog! cos' this one of Indonesian's movie which is make me proud.
Last Thursday i watched this movie..
The Raid Redemption (Original title : Serbuan Maut)
1 Ruthless Crime lord, 20 Elite Cops, and 30 floors of Chaos
its Indonesian action movie for you who love action movies, but for you who have problem with your heart or stomach, i think you can pass this movie :p
cos this movie full of chaos and action,fight, bloods.
The Raid's director Gareth Huw Evans, who's interested about traditional martial art of Pencak Silat
realized that this Pencak silat could be a potential cinematic. As one of his movie before, 'Merantau', This movie also show the skills of martial arts of a young man named Iko Uwais (as Rama in The Raid Movie), Yayan Ruhian ( Mad Dog) and also Joe Taslim ( Jaka ) an Indonesian Judo champion.The Raid Redempton movie which is produced by Merantau Films shows different fighting style :) This movie also starring by Ray Sahetapy (Tama Riyadi) a well-known and award-winning actor in Indonesia.

The Raid is one of Indonesian movie that the most proudest on this year. In addition to his success running on various international festivals before its official airing (Sundance, Toronto, SXSW), this movie also become an international spotlight at the moment. The Raid will premiere in Indo theaters on March 23, 2012.  Not only in Indonesia, This movie also in five city theater's of US, Australia, and Canada. and now is become number 20th in 20 Hollywood Box Office with 284k US$( Source : aceshowbiz/ box office mojo) wow!! 
And different from distribution in the country, 'The Raid Redemption' use of scoring by personnel of Linkin Park - Mike Shinoda and Joe Trapanese. Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions acquired the distribution rights of the film for the US tasked them to create a new score for US market.
Here the Synopsis :

As a rookie member of an elite special-forces team, Rama (Iko Uwais) is instructed to hang back during a covert mission involving the extraction of a brutal crime lord from a rundown fifteen-story apartment block. But when a spotter blows their cover, boss Tama (Ray Sahetaphy) offers lifelong sanctuary to every killer, gangster and thief in the building in exchange for their heads. Now Rama must stand in for the team’s fallen leader Jaka (Joe Taslim) and use every bit of his fighting strength – winding through every floor and room to complete the mission and escape with his life --(C)Sony

hmm.. for me.. its one of Indonesian movie who have quality, although the story is flat, but it pump the adrenalin up.
 Outside the other Indonesian movies that make people boring who always features with local horror, mystic, breast and tight, and hot chicks. Most of Indonesian movies are like that.
I think i need to review another Indonesian movies who have quality beside this movie.. so.. i should watch another :p
